Playing with boys
I love the boys because they give me pleasure. Sometimes I call you men boys, you husbands, students, lovers, thinkers, friends, and artists, men who I love in the flesh and from a distance that is centuries, cities, blocks, or the vagaries and factual black holes of written history, because I like being playful. I call you boys, flirtatiously and a bit facetiously, because it’s light-hearted, like calling my women friends, who range in age from their 20s into their 70s, girls. Me too! I love calling men that I particularly like “boys!” It brings an innocent and playful quality to flirting and allows both parties to indulge and feel more free. I too love the boys and how their mere presence makes me feel alive and more girlish! Thank you BOYS for all your different and wonderful ways of existence!

Re: watching women and loving the boys — late Halloween night it was very warm in NYC and the streets were full of scantily dressed young women with beautiful bodies in stiletto heels. The boys that were with them however were mostly a motley crew, not realizing that the beauty walking next to them was created and could disappear as quickly as it had arrived. The girls in general looked bored with their boys… walking faster than they, looking into the future for someone to touch them. I was trying to remember if I was so under-appreciated when I was in my 20s and so confident and outrageous with my “death rocker” style…
Now I am attracted to much older men, perhaps this affected my harsh judgment of the Halloween boys.
