After many years of teaching–I'm Professor of Art History Emerita at the University of Nevada, Reno and Professor of Practice in the School of Art at the University of Arizona–I'm more of a pupil and a student than ever.

Writing is the foundation of all of my work. Subjects and themes in my writing include but are not limited to love, beauty, pleasure, the body, creativity, eroticism, art, private and public power, pink, vision and transformation, and aging.

I witnessed a fascinating case of mistaken identity. I was the one in error, and for current purposes I'm defining mistaken identity like this: when a person thinks something about someone, often a stranger or a new individual in her life, and finds out, either pronto or down the line that she is WRONG.
